The Neighbourhood Street

Building a visual sense of community to Memory Care

*21 foot mural of street showing members of the community interacting with passers-by.

A much more stimulating and friendly approach to a hallway corridor

Our clients know us for providing imagery that promotes the “look and feel of home”. We want to expand that notion to “the look and feel of community”. Since many of the residents in Memory Care have less opportunity to engage with life outside of their current living space, we hope this mural goes some way to keep the memory of neighbourhood and community alive.

Notice how retro elements have been added - 1950 and 1970 cars, historic homes and something you don’t see as much in modern society - children playing outside like they did back in the day!

For ease of installation, the mural breaks down into three horizontal pieces. All pieces together give the illusion of looking through an opening in the wall to a street scene. Here, community members acknowledging the resident, with a glance, a smile, or a cheerful wave.

*Mural may be scaled down to accommodate a client’s available space.
