End of Hall Solutions and Destinations
An extension of our “imagery with a purpose”, artwork.
Goal: to make life calmer and more interesting for residents and perhaps a little easier for busy care staff.
When residents arrive at the end of a hall, they are faced with the dilemma “where do I go from here?” This can be a source of confusion and anxiety for residents in memory care which in turn needs care-givers’ attention in redirecting.
At the end of a hall, a resident’s focus will naturally turn to the doors in this area. These are typically locked stairwell doors or other resident’s doors. Locked stairwell doors are often frustrating and entering into another resident’s room may lead to conflict. Having a “destination” with a place to sit provides the right distraction with the additional advantage of turning the resident around to face a return trip down the hallway(solving the problem “where do I go from here”?)
**Note** Not all spaces are suitable for all the treatments you see here. Our wrap material isn’t made to adhere to certain wall coverings - wall paper, brick or stone or textured plastic for instance. Plain painted walls are best. If in doubt or not sure, get in touch with us and send your photos. Other things to consider are walls that are full of fixtures that cannot be moved, some can be overcome, too many interfere with the design. Best to find another wall.
End of the Hall - A Place for the Guys
Whether end-of-hall or other designated area, this imagery is designed to stimulate memories and provide a place for residents and family members to interact. Shown below in rustic red brick or choose gray for walls painted in bright, vibrant hues.
For light or neutral coloured walls, the rustic brick collection will likely make more of an impact.
With so many homes now opting for bold colours, we have also developed a
“Man Zone” collection on light gray brick that will harmonize with all.
End of the Hall Bus Stop Destination
“Our residents are really enjoying our Bus Stop and Interactive Flower Wall. One of our residents on the second floor loves taking her trip to the Bus Stop - we are so happy to see her use it on a frequent basis.”
- L.G. Recreation Manager
Not just for a hall ending - The “Bus Stop” can be adapted elsewhere for another suitable space.
